Bikes for the World is a sponsored project of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA), a 501 c 3 non-profit charity established in 1975.

Remember, a bike is a ticket to work, to school, or to health services in many parts of the world.

Past 2009 Collections.  Many thanks to close to 80 generous community organizations which sponsored collections in 2009, contributing their ideas, labor, space, and credibility to supporting our efforts, helping us collect and ship/donate 8,950 bicycles over the course of the year, and providing a valuable service to donors--putting their old bike to good use!--and to recipients overseas--who gain mobility and a greater chance to help themselves.
